We welcome all men and women of good will who have a desire to preserve our Croatian ethnic culture in the United States of America to join our membership, which now includes six generations of Californians.

Be Part of Our Rich History

On November 17, 1857, at 56 Government House near San Francisco’s waterfront, seven Dalmatian immigrants organized the oldest Croatian Society in the United States of America.

The original objectives were to cultivate a spirit of reciprocity and brotherhood, and to promote the common interests among its members and the Croatian people and their friends. Those objectives have been preserved and are demonstrated daily.

In 1979, the dream of a physical home became a reality, and the Croatian American Cultural Center on Alemany Boulevard opened its doors as a center to share the rich cultural heritage of Croatia. The Center has become an important gathering place for enthusiasts of Croatia to enjoy and learn about the diverse music and dance traditions of Croatia and its surrounding regions.
